Black Jam Mural
For some annoying reason, I wasn’t able to find the full finished picture of this mural. Okay, I know why, I have tons of back dated pictures and videos in my harddisks that sometimes things just get misplaced. Anyway, back to this very meaningful painting.
The woman on the wall is Rimme Chia. She passed from illness in 2017 and her loving family wanted her to be part of the opening of their lovely cafe. So they’ve asked to have her painting on the wall. It was based on an old sepia picture of her younger days I believe. There was wind in her hair as she looked calmly into the camera. It was quite serene actually. I thought it would be perfect if she could float with the leaves along this very very long wall. I think it was about 11 meters.
We were quite pleased with the end result where the flow of leaves brought her gently into the space to watch over her family and the business.
Here’s the draft before painting so you get the full picture.
Kimberley hard at work right there. Opening was the next day!
With the daughter, Melissa. Thank you for the opportunity for this meaningful piece.
